FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Emmanuel College has named Andrew McAllister as the new Assistant Coach for the men's and women's volleyball team. McAllister brings over a decade of collegiate coaching experience with him, most recently serving as the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach and Head Women's JV Coach at Montreat College.
McAllister was a member of the Simpson University men's volleyball team in Redding, California where he graduated with a degree in Youth Ministry in 2004. While playing on the men's team, he served as the women's volleyball Student Assistant Coach. In 2006, he served as the Assistant Volleyball Coach for the Warner University women's team. In 2009 McAllister took his talents to Bellevue College where he was the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach and Fitness Instructor. For a five year stint from 2010 to 2015 he was the Volleyball Program Director of Operations at Eastside Volleyball Academy in Des Moines, Washington along with his role as the Head Volleyball Coach of Eastside Preparatory School from 2012-2015.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, McAllister has also been a member of USA Volleyball High Performance since 2013, currently serving as a USA Volleyball High Performance National Team Coach.
"I'm humbled and honored to be a part of this program, and this college," McAllister said. "I am looking forward to helping Coach Friddle to build on the success of our women's team. While my background in coaching volleyball is mainly on the women's side, I'm excited to help James continue to change the culture of the Men's program, and establish a standard for growth and success."
McAllister holds a Masters of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington. He also holds a USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program Level III Certification.
McAllister brings with him his wife Holly and five children, Oakley (9), Westen (7), Sawyer (5), Ranger (1), and Maveryck (3).
