ATLANTA, Ga – The men's and women's track and field teams competed this past weekend at the Emory Invitational with several runners taking home personal best in their respective events.
Friday afternoon, Ryan Armstead opened his season debut in the 400m hurdles running a personal best of 57.43 finishing 9th in the event.
Saturday, Kaylynn Rainey competed well in the 5000m showing great toughness as she finished 4th place in her heat.
Dikerrio Ramsey finished 7th in the 100 meters running a NCCAA qualifying time of 10.77. Dikerrio qualified for the NCCAA national meet that will take place May 10-11 at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana.
DaMonte' Ward had an excellent day on the track running a season best of 1:55.35 in the 800 meters and splitting at 49.5 in the 4x400 relay. Carli Broome also ran a season best in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:46.
Freshman Malik Jackson finished 3rd place overall in 110 Hurdles setting a personal best of 15.58.
Ethan Hargrove ran a strong 1500m running a season best of 4:10 placing him 10th overall.
"This meet was a great fitness test for all of us. Our Athletes not only ran well, but competed well which is extremely valuable as we head into April, which is the last month of regular season." Assistant coach Tucker Hilley said. "Really excited to get back to work and preparing them for our next competition which will be at Southern Wesleyan on April 6th."
