Women's Soccer Falls Short In Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals

WILSON, N.C. - After clinching their spot in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals, #6 Emmanuel took on #3 Barton College to play for a spot in the final four. After 90 minutes of play consisting of a dominant Barton offense, the Lions were defeated 5-0. 

The Bulldogs kicked things off with an early goal from Kassie Krul to take the lead. Eight minutes later, Katie Christiansen would score from 15 feet out to advance their lead to 2-0. Barton would score one last goal before halftime with a shot from Syaani Harris.

When action continued into the second half, EC remained on the defense. Christiansen would score her second goal for Barton in the fifty-sixth minute. The Bulldogs would put in one last dagger with a goal from Hailey Russell in the sixty-sixth minute.

The Lions were unable to attempt any shots on goal while the Bulldogs fired away 13.

Senior goalkeeper Hannah Welch recorded 8 saves.

This loss concludes the season for Emmanuel women's soccer who finished with a 9-9 overall record and a 6-5 conference record.
