Women's Lacrosse Has Impressive Comeback Against Southern Virginia.

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Emmanuel College Women's Lacrosse Team traveled to Buena Vista, Va to take on Southern Virginia.

Megan Shortt started the game with the first goal for the lions. Southern Virginia went on to score six unanswered after that giving them a solid lead.

The lions fought to come back going on their own unanswered run of 4 goals. Southern Virginia then scored five more and Emmanuel only scored one leaving Emmanuel down in the first half and ending the half with a score of 11-6.

Tara Larson, Megan Shortt, Ellie Freise, and Hanna Hernandez put points up on the board in the first half.

The lions came back fighting in the second half and scored 11 goals while Southern Virginia only scored 3.

The lions overcame being down by 5 and came back to win the game with a score of 17-14.

Megan Shortt had 6 goals for the lions, Tara Larson had 4, and Hanna Hernandez and Ellie Friese had 2, and Aleah Marijanich had 1.

The lions ended the game with 21 ground balls, 20 turnovers, 15 draw controls, and 38 shots. Emma Pow had 14 saves and Tiana Machado had 8 saves.  

The Lady Lions will take on Mount Olive University at home for their next game on March 3rd.
