GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team's 8 game win streak came to an end on Saturday against conference opponent Limestone, 63-50. This loss brings the Lions record to 10-4 overall, 7-1 in conference.
Limestone jumped to an early lead after opening the game with 11 unanswered points. EC's Jazmin Allen would score 7 first half points to help keep the Lions afloat, despite a 19-29 deficit by half-time.
EC kicked off the third quarter with a strong start from Junior Breanna Locke who put up 9 points in the first six minutes. Locke's final three-pointer would dwindle the Limestone lead down to just 6. Unfortunately for the Lions, they would never get a chance to steal the lead as the Saints continued to knock down shots from behind the arc.
The Lady Lions finished the night with a 31.5% field goal percentage. EC was out-rebounded 50-42 and had 7 more turnovers than the saints. Breanna Locke led the Lions with 14 points and 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.
Next up, the Lions face conference opponent Lees-McRae on Wednesday, January 15th on the road.
