Bangura Leads Lions at Pepsi Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fl. - A few men's Track and Field athletes were selected to compete at the Annual Pepsi Florida Relays hosted at the University of Florida.

Sophomore Sulaimane Bangura was the only Lion to compete individually, and as usual, he did not disappoint. Sulaimane finished second in his heat with a new personal and school record time of 47.27 in the 400 meter dash. His time officially ranks him fourth in the entire NCAA Division II. He also contritbuted to a season best in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 43.47 as second leg with Holiday, Blake, and Guinn. He also anchored the 4x400 meter relay and contributed to the relays fastest time of the year.  

Both Bangura and Ward went sub-50 for their splits to contribute to a 3:27.51 with Jackson and Blake. 

Next up, the six will join the rest on the team at the SWU Susan Rouse Invitational on Friday, April 5th.
