Lions Move To 2-3 in Conference Carolinas with Loss to NGU

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.  – The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team fell to the visiting Crusaders of North Greenville last Saturday 24-8.

It was a three goal run for the Crusaders to set the tone for the sunny afternoon contest. The teams would mirror on offense for the duration of the first to end the quarter at 6-3 favoring NGU.

The second quarter was the difference maker for the Crusaders as they scored nine unanswered to go into the halftime break ahead 15-3.

The third quarter was an even match as both teams made halftime adjustments. Alex Stull and Kylon Collins each scored for the Lions to even two goals from North Greenville.

In the opening minutes of the final quarter, Shamaz Durrant looked to spark momentum for the Lions with an early goal. NGU would answer with a four goal run to push the difference to 21-6 with under 10-minutes to play. Lance Olson and Travis Brave Heart would each score before the time expired. The Lions are now 2-3 in Conference Carolinas play after the 24-8 loss to NGU.

Standout Performance

Matthew Mitchell and Shamaz Durrant were each credited with two goals against North Greenville.

The turnover margin for the game was just one differentiating the two 20-21 favoring NGU.
