FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team took on the North Greenville University Crusaders on Thursday night. The Lions fell to the Crusaders 83-77, moving their record to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in conference.
The first 15 minutes of the game were an even exchange with the score staying within one possession for the majority of the time. However, as the clock wound down in the first half, the Crusaders started heating up. The Lions couldn't manage to match pace, eventually going into halftime trailing by 7, 43-36.
In the second half the Lions got within 3 of the Crusaders but were never able to recapture the lead. A couple of late turnovers for Emmanuel were costly in the comeback effort.
The Lions shot 40% from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, converting only 22% of three-point attempts. The Lions lost the turnover battle, giving up 16 while only forcing 9 from the Crusaders.
Next up, men's basketball will take on Chowan University on Saturday, January 4th.
