Women's Cross Country Finishes 8th at Conference Championships

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Emmanuel College women's cross country team competed at the 2018 Conference Carolinas Championship on Saturday. In just their first year of being eligible for conference post season play, the Lions finished eighth overall among the eleven competing teams.

Mount Olive won the championship with a team score of 17, earning their fourth straight team title.

The Lions registered a score of 222 points to beat out Barton, Converse and Erskine.

Leading the Lions was Senior Fayth Woodward in 24th place with a time of 24:54.9. Sophomore Alexa Quarles finished just two spots behind with a time of 24:59.2. Senior Carliann Broome took 56th place at 27:30.3. Junior Priscilla Gosnell and Freshman Dominga Ortega rounded out the top five for the Lions at 73rd and 76th.
