WILSON, N.C. - Women's volleyball swept another conference opponent on Friday night, this time against the #2 conference ranked Barton College.

The Lions started out the first set with three straight points, including a kill from Senior Julie de Blanck and an ace from Senior Nikki Kraning. Emmanuel continued to go on little runs throughout the set, closing it out 25-20.

The second set started out just like the former with a quick 3-0 lead. Emmanuel dominated the net with a .417 hitting percentage that the Bulldogs couldn't keep up with. The Lions easily cruised to a 25-13 victory.

In the third set, Barton appeared to have found their rhythm with an early 5-1 lead. The Lions, however, quickly shattered any sense of hope  the Bulldogs had by retaliating with 11 straight points. Kraning stepped up to the service line 11 times, earning 2 aces along the way. Now facing a six point deficit, The Bulldogs returned with 5 kills combined with a few Emmanuel errors to close the gap to just two points. The teams would continue to exchange points before Emmanuel went on a final 6 point run, ending the match 25-16.

This win brings the Lions record to 16-8 overall, 10-1 in conference.

Emmanuel will return to action at home on Friday, October 26th when they take on Converse College at 7:00pm.
