Women’s Soccer Shuts out Lees-McRae

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team defeated conference opponent Lees-McRae in their final regular season game on Thursday. With a conference record of 6-4-1, the Lions have secured a spot in Conference Carolinas post season play as the #5 seed.

Against the Bobcats, Sophomore Hannah Logue blew past the defender then beat the keeper one on one to score her 14th goal of the season. Logue currently stands at #1 in the conference for goals.

Twenty-two minutes into the second half, Moriah Logue would score her third goal of the season with an assist from older sister Hannah on way to their 2-0 shutout.

The Lions commanded the field with 22 shots compared to the Bobcats 9.

Senior goalkeeper Hannah Welch tallied 5 saves.

The Lions will enter postseason conference play in the quarterfinals next Tuesday, October 30th. The match will be hosted by the to be determined #4 seed.
