Track & Field Post Impressive Finishes at JDL College Kick-Off

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - The Emmanuel College track & field team competed at the JDL College Kick-Off Classic on Saturday to start their indoor season.

On The Track

On the women's side, Junior Bree Teasley was the top performer, finishing 12th out of 60 in the 60m dash with a time of 7.85. Teasley followed up with an impressive 4th place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 25.79. Freshman Kristin Stephens posted a 9th place finish (26.22) in the 200m dash. 

Sophomore Malik Jackson led the men with an 8th place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.58. 

On The Field

Freshman Ackeem West recorded a 6.35 meter jump in his first ever long jump to secure 13th place.

"It was a great start to both the men and women's team this weekend at the JDL College Kickoff Classic," said head coach Chyna Davis. "There were multiple personal records and new school records set at the very first meet of the season. We still have a lot of fine tuning to do, but I'm excited to see what this season holds for the team."
