ATHENS, GA. - The Emmanuel College Men's and Women's Bowling Team took to the Lanes last Saturday to showcase their skills at the Peach Bowl Classic. Taking place at Showtime Bowl, the Women competed in a pool of 9 competitors, while the Men competed in a pool of 10.
Leading the Ladies was Senior Chelsea Lein who averaged 239.33 over the 6 games with a total pinfall of 1436. Chelsea's impressive performance put her average 25 pins above the second place finisher, allowing the Lions to easily capture a first place victory. The ladies finished with a cumulative score of 9232, 682 pins higher than the #15 ranked, 2nd place finisher.
While the Men didn't get the first place finish they were hoping for, they ended with a solid second place finish behind Webber International University. After 10 matches, the men totaled a cumulative score of 9569. Freshman David Hooper led the Lions with a 218.5 average to claim the 7th place spot.
The Bowling Team will have the rest of the month off before they travel to Kentucky to compete at the UNK Norse Classic.
