BANNER ELK, NC—The Lions winning streak was halted on Tuesday at Lees McRae, when the Lions fell to the Bobcats 78-86.

The Lions led for the majority of the first half, until Lees McRae took the lead 32-31 with 15 seconds left in the first half. Michael Stanley came back with two free throws to put the Lions back ahead 33-32 for halftime. But the Bobcats responded with a lay-up, putting the Lions down by one point going into the half (33-34).

The two teams went back and forth for the beginning of the second half of the game, never letting the opponent get more than two points ahead. The Lions had the game tied 48-48 with 12:15 left before the Bobcats took a lead and never allowed the Lions to close the gap.

Steven Guinchard led the Lions with 17 points. Luke Miller and Michael Stanley each had 14 points, and Patrick McCrary put up 12 points. Stanley also collected nine rebounds for the game.

The Lions continue Conference Carolinas play on Saturday at Limestone. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM
